Leadership & Structure

As one of two Centers within the Duke University Population Research Institute (DUPRI), DPRC is organized into three cores—Administrative, Scientific and Development.

M.Giovanna Merli directs the Duke Population Research Center (DPRC) and leads the DPRC’s Administrative Core. Merli oversees the Center’s activities, heads up the Center’s administrative staff and works closely with the other core directors.

Hedwig Lee and James Moody are the Center's Development Core Co-Directors and Marcos Rangel and Jerome Reiter co-Direct the DPRC Scientific Core.

The DUPRI Executive Committee develops DPRC policy and oversees the Center’s projects. DPRC strategically coordinates research initiatives with the Center for Population Health and Aging (CPHA) and the Duke Network Analysis Center (DNAC).

Research Scholars at DPRC hold regular rank appointments at Duke and are also members of the Duke University Population Research Institute (DUPRI). DPRC Scholars' grant portfolios, publications, teaching posts and leadership in the health community demonstrate their unique contribution to the population sciences.
