The Development Core is the Center's incubator for new ideas. Headed up by co-Directors Hedwig Lee and James Moody, the Development Core facilitates interdisciplinary communication, supports new research and recruits new members to the Center.
To compete for extramural funding, the Development Core not only reaches out to allied disciplines for joint study opportunities, but also administers a Pilot Grant Program which has awarded numerous seed grants to junior faculty and senior scholars who are advancing DPRC’s signature research themes.
The Core also promotes the DUPRI Seminar Series, offers topical workshops and facilitates student and scholar one-on-one mentoring and research training to propel research from a germinating idea to funded proposal and publication.
